Thy Will Be Done

Posted by admin on July 9, 2013

If you’re reading this, you’re most likely familiar with the Lord’s Prayer.  One of the lines I’ve personally struggled with the most, is “Thy will be done”.  I don’t know about you but I have some grand plans for what I would like to accomplish and how I would like for things to go in my life.   Sometimes I get really frustrated when things don’t work out the way I think they should.  I get frustrated mostly at myself for not doing things I promised myself I would.  I certainly hope God has more patience with me than I have with myself (which I’m pretty sure is true because anything is greater than nothing, right?).    When I’m struggling to get something done, and I mean struggling with, I will sometimes say to myself, “I wonder if this is what God would have me do.”  I’d love to be able to tell you that I get really clear answers but I’m afraid that would make me a liar.  There is no burning bush where I hear God’s voice; there is no voice I hear at all telling me what I should or should not be doing.  Although at times, when I quiet my mind and my environment, I do seem to gain clarity, or at least what I think is clarity.   I will often add in these quiet moments and then repeat several times, “God, you know I can be a little hard-headed, so You really need to make the plan/choice clear to me”.  I guess that’s my way of asking for a clear sign from God.  I don’t know if it works for sure but I do gain some clarity at times.

When I write out affirmations and even goals, I will often end with the phrase “or something better”.  What if God really does have a greater plan than yours?  What if you were to accomplish all you had laid out in your goals…and more?  What if God’s plan for you is far greater than your imagination at this time?  What if God was conspiring with you to help you achieve your goals?  What could you accomplish if you focused on bringing to fruition that which your heart truly and deeply desires?

I love this message from John Maxwell, “Many people achieve their goals but not their potential”.    Thankfully God knows your potential and will provide you tools to develop it, all you need to do is be open to His plan.

What are you capable of doing and becoming?

Be sure to post your responses below!  I love to hear from you!

A treasure trove of information here.I have many of my short biz videos whichwere converted a while back into .flv(flash format) by a guy I had hired(he's gone now and I have to now learn on my own).My question: does any of the programs whichyou recommend (Vegas, Final Cut) importflash video clips? Is there a program youwould recommend? The Freebie programsjust don't cut it.
